  • Changing grind settings: It is very important to only change grind settings when the unit is powered on and the burrs are in motion. If you do not do this, the burrs will ‘gunk’ up and render the grinder to only produce very coarse grinds or no grinds at all. To remedy this, you will have to open up the grinder to get access to the grinding burrs. This issue will be considered operator error for lack of following directions, and not be classified as a defective grinder.

Eureka Mignon Silenzio Stepless Doserless Espresso Coffee Grinder

Prepare to be captivated by the remarkable evolution of the Eureka Mignon. Once hailed as one of the top grinders of 2017, it has now transcended its own excellence. Behold the new series of Mignons, carefully tailored to cater to the unique needs of every barista. This groundbreaking advancement merges the remarkable technology from the renowned Eureka Atom with the elegant compactness of the Mignon, giving birth to the extraordinary Eureka Mignon Silenzio. As the first tier of upgraded Mignons, the Silenzio proudly encompasses Eureka’s most distinctive innovation: its whisper-quiet silencing technology. Available in sleek black, chrome, or white body options, you have the freedom to curate the perfect combination of chute and body colors, fashioning a grinder that resonates with your personal taste and style.

Silent Technology

Eureka made waves when they released the quietest espresso grinder on the market: the Eureka Atom. Now, they’ve incorporated this Silent technology into these series of Mignon grinders. Have no worries about disturbing your loved ones in the morning when freshly grinding your coffee!

Stepless Grinding Adjustment

Stepless grinding adjustment allows you to make the most finite adjustments to achieve the perfect grind.

Hands-Free Fork

Distance from top of the fork to coffee chute is approximately 2.25″. It can be removed completely to put a container. Allows hands-free operation with spouted portafilters.

Optimally Sized Bean Hopper

Holds approximately 8 ounces of roasted beans for plenty of espresso shots. Ergonomically designed to keep the overall height low and not to stick out beyond the rest of the grinder. A set screw holds the hopper in place as opposed to other grinders which are friction fit. It is also equipped with a stopper if you want to remove the hopper with the beans in it, and a finger guard…just in case.

Easy controls

Located on the right of the grinder. The large switch turns the grinder on. The button on the lower right switches the grinder from semi-automatic (pushed out) to a timer (pushed in) in timer mode. The knob on the lower left adjusts the amount of time the grinder will run. Turn clockwise to increase time and counterclockwise to decrease time. Push the button in front of the grinder underneath the coffee chute to start grinding!

Notes

Espresso Coffee Grinder Warnings:

  • Changing grind settings: It is very important to only change grind settings when the unit is powered on and the burrs are in motion. If you do not do this, the burrs will ‘gunk’ up and render the grinder to only produce very coarse grinds or no grinds at all. To remedy this, you will have to open up the grinder to get access to the grinding burrs. This issue will be considered operator error for lack of following directions, and not be classified as a defective grinder.
  • Electrical cord: For most grinders, the cord is placed between the packaging (foam or cardboard) and the underside body of the grinder. During shipping, it is normal for a bend or insignificant blemish/slice to damage the cord.
  • Finding coffee grinds in a new grinder: Most manufacturers test their grinders with coffee beans before they leave their facility. Unfortunately, they are not always able to get every trace of coffee out of the grinders after testing. As a result, you may find coffee beans or grinds inside your grinder, or there may be grinds in the packaging.
  • Static issues: There are static issues with all grinders, even the highest-quality models. We firmly believe that the static comes from the coffee beans. If you are having static problems with your coffee grinder, try using a different blend of beans.
  • Electrical: To avoid electrical damage (which is not considered a manufacturer’s defect), please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. A surge without protection can damage a grinder at the power switch, the capacitor, the motor, or the wiring.
  • Burr cleaning: For routine maintenance of the grinding burrs, we recommend using grinder cleaning agents. We do not recommend any removal of the burrs or the burr carrier for cleaning (unless necessary) as re-assembly can cause damage.
  • Replacing burrs: NEVER use a flathead screwdriver and hammer to wedge under the burrs for removal. This could badly damage your grinder.

  1. Grinding for multiple brew methods: This is an espresso only coffee grinder as other coffee brew methods will require the stepless knob to be turned hundreds of rotations.
  2. Motor not turning on: If the motor doesn't turn on, try taking the grinder to a coarser setting.

I have an older-style Mignon grinder that pre-dates any of the noise-dampening parts in the later Silenzio models. I love the grinder, but if there's a way to muffle it a little, I definitely would. Do you know if any of the noise-insulting parts from a newer model could be incorporated into an older one?

Sorry, we do not know what would work. It is best to go back to your selling dealer or Eureka directly for assistance. Please understand that our techs can research your request for you under billable time if you would like us to go down that rabbit hole or goose hunt.

    2. We inherited a Mignon Silenzio grinder and the portafilter fork is too narrow to hold "hands free" a bottomless portafilter fork or a 58 mm dosing cup. The Eureka company via email exchange suggested trying the fork from a Mignon Zero grinder. They are not able to sell directly to a consumer. Do you sell the Mignon Zero portafilter fork replacement part separately? Thank you! david

    4. Hi there, Does your part #2311.1800M (adjustable fork kit) work on the silenzia grinder. The nonadjustable fork just doesn't stay put very well and I think this would solve the problem (if it fits).

    10. I bought this grinder in October of 2019. Extremely happy with it until last week when I started receiving less than 2bar on the monometer from my Lelit Anna espresso machine. The coffee just pours out. My bar count has always been on the green of the monometer. I always kept the grinder dialed in at 0 and the same dispensing of the espresso beans and tempered exactly leveled to the puck. My questions are; what could be wrong with the grinder? or Could my Lelit PL41EM Anna be defective?

A It sounds like the issue is with the Anna, although a complete answer requires more information. If it's the grinder, major changes to pressures during brewing would indicate a significant change to the puck itself - have you seen any changes in the grind quality or consistency? It seems as though changes would be readily observable.
      Answered by the admin

The manometer shows the result of the resistance created by the fineness of the grind, the amount of the coffee in the basket, and the tamping pressure - all three create resistance.

To test the machine, a blind filter (without holes) can be inserted and the coffee switch turned on for 30 seconds. If the pressure gauge reaches 9 or more bar, then the problem is the grind fineness or preparation error.

If the gauge does not achieve 9 bar, then the pump is failing or the overpressure valve (OPV) was changed or stuck open. If there is a water softener, this could be clogged. We recommend removing the water softener, if attached, and recharging it or replacing it if it is 6 months or older. Then descale the machine through the grouphead and water wand per the instructions on our web site.

      Answered by the admin

As for the grinder... if someone changed setting while NOT powered on and running, then the grinding burrs will have compacted ground coffee and not be able to grind fine enough. The grinder setting would need to be taken out to the coarsest setting without beans in the hopper and powered on running. Shut off, and fill the beans into the hopper. Power on to run grinder, and slowly turn the adjustment knob finer. This should clear out the compacted coffee. If not, a burr cleaner may need to be used in the same fashion, or the burrs will need to be removed for a manual cleaning with a metal wire brush.

    14. Hello, I own this grinder and have developed a problem with the motor cutting out suddenly and intermittently after 2 years of service. I assumed that it was a faulty front activator switch (1005.0013) so I ordered and installed a replacement. Double checked all other connections and cleaned the interior. Same issue. Works in fits and starts. The main power switch is 100% viable and the red light always stays illuminated when switched on. Wondering what would be the next component to troubleshoot. Looking suspicously at the Eureka 1013.1020 Capacitor – 115V now. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Check your voltage in the outlet. We had a grinder issue similar to yours, and it ended up being only 108 volts in the outlet. Otherwise, it can be the capacitor or worst case, the motor.

The grind quality is close, but the Eureka Specialita espresso coffee grinder can grind a little better for espresso with the 55mm burr set versus the 50mm burrs on the Eureka Silenzio espresso coffee grinder.

    18. Hello, I cannot seem get the right grind with this Eureka Mignon. If I grind fine enough to get 9 bar of pressure, the grinds are lumpy, slow to come out and the timer won't run long enough to fill the porta filter. If I increase the grind size to enough to fill the porta filter within the timer limit, the espresso machine will only reach 4-5 bar at most (I always give a good solid tamp). I am grinding Lavazza Super Crema beans and brewing with a Lelit PL62 Mara. I have no issues using the same beans with my Lelit grinder- I can get good, fluffy grinds that achieve 9 bar of pressure.

Hi Jason, this is unusual. On the Eureka Mignons, it is best to first use the grinder in manual mode until the right grind setting is achieved. Then once things are good, then set the timer and adjust it.

Please keep in mind that a new batch of the same coffee can force you to adjust the grind particle size as well as the programmed timing. Meaning, starting over from scratch.
