The EC Pro is the ideal choice for brewing cafe quality espresso and cappuccino at home. It features an an advanced pump boiler system and 2 portafilter options.
The EC Pro comes with 2 portafilters: a heavy-duty dual spout portafilter and its very own bottomless portafilter.
The dual spout portafilter is designed for beginners. It is convenient and easy to use and allows for brewing 1 -2 espressos at a time. The pressurized filter basket helps produce an ideal brew quickly and easily, by creating optimal pressure without having a perfect tamp or grind fineness.
The bottomless portafilter helps improve your barista skills. Unlike the pressurized filter basket on the dual spout portafilter, the pressure and resulting cup will rely on your tamp and grind fineness. When you find the optimal tamp pressure and grind fineness, you will produce a richer, thicker crema and a hotter brew because the espresso has less contact with the surfaces of the portafilter.

Espresso Machine Warning:
- ELECTRICAL WARNING: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. the lack of the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat or the wiring inside.
- WATER WARNING: To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
- DESCALING WARNING: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.
- This machine is one of the few machines that actually come with a bottomless portafilter. For beginners we recommend using the dual spout portafilter first. When you get familiar with using the machine you can start experimenting with the bottomless portafilter. Adjusting your grind fineness, tamping pressure, or changing the beans you use will drastically improve the taste of your coffee. When used correctly, the bottomless filter will produce a richer crema and a hotter brew.
- Preheat your cups on the heavy-duty stainless steel cup warming platform for at least 15 minutes to maintain the proper temperature of your beverage. Alternatively, you can also rinse the cups with hot water prior to brewing the espresso. Cold cups result in cold espresso.
