BWT Bestmax Installation Kit

The BWT Bestmax Installation Kit is one of the best in the industry! Why? Because this kit not only filters the water, but softens it through an ion exchange. It’s not good enough to just filter the water! This BWT kit removes the requirement of a water softener.

The other reasons are there is an optional meter to measure how much water goes through the filter (which you can program for the filter size you purchase). In addition, there is a flush valve to rinse the paper sediment from manufacturing before it enters and damages your espresso machine.

The optional hose also makes it easy to connect the BSPP connections of most European espresso machines and BWT systems to your American standard water line connections. Make sure to feed the cold water line into this system as well as regulate the water pressure to between 35 and 40 psi for maximum performance and least problems.

I have a lelit bianca and am considering plumbing the line and drain. I have a water line with a "refrigerator filter". would I need a separate filter like the BWT? my bianca (using the tank filter) seems to expel alot of water. might that mean my water is too pure? also how might I determine which size BWT filter I need? thanks Bill

Sorry, this is more complex and something we prefer not to answer as the water is different for every Lelit Bianca espresso machine owner. If you purchased the Bianca from us, please use the contact us form on our web site. If purchased from another dealer, we suggest contacting them as we do not want to involved in any finger pointing by the other dealer. We hope you can understand this.

    2. Hi, can you confirm if the pressure regulation valve that you can buy as an option is fitted on the inlet to the BWT filter or on the outlet from the BWT filter to regulate the specific pressure reaching the espresso machine?

It is recommend to control the pressure before the system. However, in some cases, this can not happen.

The Bianca comes with the adapter to change on the bottom elbow as well as the connection hose which is 3/8th BSPP female. There is a John Guest fitting available.

    6. Looking to plumb my machine and add filtration to the line. What's the main difference between this and the BWT Bestmax Premium filter versions other suppliers carry? I realize there also is a capacity in liters these can filter but wondering how often one should change out filters even if I'm not close to hitting the filter limit? Every year?

To avoid bacteria and mold growth, all filters should be replaced minimum every 6 months.

Since we are unsure which machine you have and your usage, we are unsure which product to recommend. We do stock the Premium version, but in most cases these are not needed.

    8. Hello, I recently purchased a BWT BestMax installation kit and M filter from you. I am having difficulty installing this as the threads are British. I purchased every option on the webpage which include a British female to female adapter that does not connect to anything American. I also purchased the hose listed which does connect to the filter head British threads for the outlet. I feel 1st Line should at least provide this information, but would prefer you also handle the appropriate adapters to purchase. 1st Line Equipment does not provide any information regarding these connectors on the website. I did not understand I would need additional British thread to American thread adapters. Where can I purchase BSPP to American fresh water plumbing adapters?

Please note the BWT connection hose does go to a 3/8th Amercican NPT standard. Since your email shows an RV, maybe your connection is a flare fitting for which we do have a

3/8 BSPP to 3/8 Standard Adapter Flare Fitting adapter. This fitting may NOT work on the BWT connection hose and a different hose may be needed with a female BSPP connection on each side.

Please note that BSPP to all he different types of American fittings are not made. Hence, there is only a select few conversions available and carried.
