ACS Vesuvius V2 Dual Boiler Espresso Machine

In a pursuit for perfection, 1st-line and the manufacturer, ACS, dedicated themselves to enhancing the Ambiente Vesuvius espresso machine in early 2016. Recognizing the significance of uncompromising quality, they tirelessly worked to replace the plastic tubes with durable stainless steel tubes, a milestone officially designated as ASTV on December 6, 2017. Throughout the process, 1st-line held steadfast, refusing to order additional machines until this pivotal upgrade was implemented. Although the plastic tubes were by no means subpar, the desire to elevate the machine’s excellence within its price range led to the introduction of stainless steel tubes, providing an unparalleled level of craftsmanship.

Starting as of June 2016, 1st-line has stocked the Vesuvius ASTV machines with the stainless upgrade of the internal tubing from plastic as well as some other upgrades: bottomless portafilter added, new stainless sensor on the steam boiler, and steam boiler safety valve. Look on our upgrades tab!

The Vesuvius ASTV by Ambiente Espresso (also known as Elcor, ACS, or M&G) is one of the world’s first prosumer, computer-controlled double boiler espresso machine with an E61 group and is one of the espresso machines closest to repeating that of the results of a lever espresso machine.

How? You can program 7 different pressure profiles during the espresso extraction. For example, start off with a light pre-infusion of 3-4 bar for 5 seconds, then ramp up to 11 bar for 4 seconds, then the remaining pressure profiles can diminish the pressure. One can also do the reverse. Inside tidbit… 1st-line bench tests every unit sold with water only, and then custom programs the first profile. Customer feedback has been fantastic on this first profile! We do ask that this not get published.

The Vesuvius has its water reservoir hidden inside the left side panel. Unlike many other espresso machines, no need to refill from the top where cupboards get in the way or where the cups on the cup warmer tray need to be removed.

Features:

  • HX on/off option: Allows you to choose whether you want your coffee boiler be connected to the HX’s steam boiler or get water directly from pump. Helps with temperature stability.

Pump water intake issue. The machine was in storage for a while. Now it does not take in water to the boilers. I hear the motor humming but it times out. When I direct plumbed it the water filled the reservoir but did not continue to the boilers. I was looking for a way to jump start the pump but could not see it. Do you have suggestions?

Sorry, this is the beyond the scope of our free services on Q&A as there can be a multitude of issues from electrical, to valves, and the pump. We suggest having a local professional evaluate the issues.

    2. Turned on my Vesuvius this morning and the temperature really is staggeringly unstable. Mostly to high and even reaching over temp alarm screen. It was 203-235 so quickly I'm sure it's wrong. I'm guessing back T/C. If you concur, could you please tell me price and delivery time/cost? If you disagree, what are your alternate thoughts?

Check the bleeder valve to make sure the steam boiler is releasing vacuum pressure on the steam boiler. We suggest cleaning the inside portion of the sensor (both boilers) with a brass or stainless wire brush. Be careful to not twist the wires when removing or installing the sensor.

    4. Machine is displaying a scrolling "Service" banner on the main display in lieu of the current profile. Machine has been serviced however unsure how to reset this service interval. Please advise, thank you.
