Enjoy a great latte or creamy cappuccino from a Vibiemme Junior espresso machine. Vibiemme calls it 'Junior' because of its smaller footprint for those customers who do not have the room nor space for their larger Super espresso machines.

A little history... based on the great success of the Vibiemme Domobar Super Heat Exchanger (a.k.a. HX) espresso machines in the USA since 2006, Vibiemme has designed the Vibiemme Junior HX in 2010 for those customers who need a smaller footprint. The Vibiemme Junior HX offers the same
  1. ability to extract espresso and steam milk at the same time, and
  2. ability to change the pressure in the boiler which is a direct proportional relationship to the temperature.
Please note that for Vibiemme to offer a lower price when compared to the Super machines, the following features are different mostly due to the smaller space available inside the machine
  1. this machine's footprint is smaller for those customers who have less space, but smaller size means less metal (lower cost),
  2. the boiler is controlled by a smaller pressurestat which needs to be manually descaled,
  3. the heat exchanger has a 1.0 liter boiler which is smaller compared to the larger 2.45 liter boilers found on the Super models,
  4. smaller drip tray on the Junior, and
  5. The grouphead and water tank switches are smaller.
The Junior HX machine still boasts Vibiemme's exclusive and original E-61 grouphead found on the larger machines, the same ULKA 41 watt pump, gorgeous styling, large adjustable overpressure valve (OPV), commercial grade steam and hot water valves, multi-directional steam and hot water wands, brew and steam pressure gauges, heavy vacuum breaker valve, and one-way valve to eliminate back pressure from the boiler.
  • Mirror-polished stainless steel body panel.
  • Heavy duty, true Faema E61 grouphead maintains active flow of water from the grouphead to the heat exchanger in the boiler.
  • Insulation wrapped around the boiler. The heat exchanger allows you to make espresso after espresso until water reservoir is emptied. You can also steam immediately before, during, or immediately after extracting an espresso without any wait time.
  • Heating Element - Brew boiler 1600 watts controlled by Mater pressurestat adjusted from top of machine.
  • Boiler pressure gauge to indicate boiler pressure (reading will vary between .8 and 1.2 bar pressure).
  • Pump pressure gauge to indicate brew pressure during espresso extraction (reading will vary while not extracting).
  • Multi-directional stainless steel steam wand on left side can be moved in different directions.
  • Multi-directional stainless steel hot water tap on right side can be moved in different directions.
  • Power indicator light on right side indicates when the machine is powered on.
  • Heating light on left side indicates when espresso machine is heating. Once fully heated, no need to pay attention to this light unless temperature surfing.
  • Low water level light in middle indicates when water level in water reservoir in rear is low.
  • Two stage power switch (on/off) requires particular attention upon initial machine startup - when powering on for the first time, please make sure the intake reservoir hose (has large particle filter) draws in water. Once the pump activates for a several seconds and release, squeeze this hose for 3 seconds. If you hear a different pump noise, the pump is working. If the pump sounds the same, power down machine and call us. If you hear no pump noise for the first 30 seconds of powering on, power down the machine and call us as a wire may have come off the pump.
  • Mater pressurestat monitors boiler pressure (which is directly related to the temperature).
  • Stainless steel drip tray which can be easily (slides out with pull of handle) removed for cleaning. Grate stays on machine when pulling out drip tray so that it is one step to empty.
  • GICAR branded electronic water level control for internal boiler is located in lower front of machine where there is least heat build up.
  • 41 watt vibratory pump ("vibe" pump) rated up to 15 bar with air valve bypass. Only 9 bar is needed to extract espresso, and wattage has no correlation to longevity.
  • Largest OPV (over pressure valve opens when too much pump pressure exists) located in rear of machine with easy access when body panel and six (6) associated screws are removed.
  • Professional grade brass portafilters - one portafilter with single spout and single filter basket and one portafilter with dual spout and double filter basket.
  • Accessories: Single spout portafilter, single dose filter basket, double spout portafilter, double dose filter basket, blind filter basket for backflushing, plastic coffee scoop, and a common useless plastic tamper (please make sure to order a good tamper).
  • Measurements: 16" H x 9" W x 17" D.
    • Width with both wands out - 14".
    • Drip Tray - 2.25" H x 8.375" W x 6.375" D.
  • Shipping weight: 62 pounds dimensional weight.
  • Boiler capacity: 1.0 liter, 100 mm diameter, solid, vertical copper boiler with heat exchanger for on demand steam.
  • Removable 2.2 liter pour-over water reservoir.
  • Electrical Power requirements: 115 volts 1600 watts, 15-20 amp - uses 15 amp standard electrical plug and outlet.
  • Product Safety Listing: UL Commercial for home and office use (please note that NSF approvals have not been applied for use in coffee shops, restaurants, and other food service establishments. Please check with your local health department if NSF is required for your food service establishment).
  • Made in Milan, Italy.
  1. This machine is available in 110 volt configuration only. 220-240 volt units are not available for ordering.
  2. Types of water that cannot be used with this espresso machine.
  3. Although you can read some older reviews of older Vibiemme models here, we cordially invite you to post a new review for us here!
  4. Some assembly required. Feet are not attached to the machine.
Service Notes:
  1. Initial Power Up: Turn off power switch. Open both wands. Fill tank, check for kinked lines. Plug in. *IF Heat-Exchanger - Move lever down, power on machine and wait for boiler to fill automatically. Close the valves for steam/water.
  2. Backflushing: This machine should be backflushed minimum once every 50 espresso extractions using Ascaso Detergent (our instructions included with purchase). This is only for cleaning the oils from the grouphead.

Review: Upgraded to VBM Jr from Silvia after 12 years. The upgrade is significant in how VBM Jr produces cappuccinos. You have to get use to doing cooling flushes to get the right espresso shot. Additionally, Jim Piccinich was very helpful in reviewing the options to upgrade from Silvia, and provided immediate responses when i had a microswitch problem. 1st Line was excellent to work with for both product and service.

Review: This is our first “real” espresso machine. We don’t have a lot of money to spare so we needed to get the best value and most durability for years since we won’t be able to “upgrade” for a while. I had my eye on a couple of other brands until Jim pointed out that the VBMs were made of pretty much the best quality components available. I took his advice and have been completely overjoyed with the Junior. Received it July 1, 2014. I have been using it every day and, though I don’t always get the “g... More details
