The CuadraII now includes a no-burn steam wand and no-burn hot water wand.E61 grouphead. Heat exchanger (HX). Steam milk and make espresso at the same time. Boiler pressure gauge. There is even a refill spout so you do not need to pull your machine forward to fill the reservoir. Brain unit, pump, and solenoid valve are near bottom to avoid boiler heat which rises, and these same items are protected with a stainless steel covering to prevent water from splashing on them. Review: The La Nuova Era Cuadra is my second machine with the first being a Rancillo Silvia - my what a difference! While there is always some technique involved tuning the grind, the Cuadra makes espresso much, much, easier. I also think that the weight of it stabilizes the temperature just fine so a pid isn't missed. I am very, very happy with my purchase.

"Professional coffee stand in our kitchen!"

Review: This has been a huge step up for us! Our previous machine was one of the widely available, expensive home espresso machines from a widely known retail store. Good product but it was clear this was a home unit, nothing comparable to what you would find in a professional coffee shop. This machine has changed that. Now, we have a professional grade espresso machine! Delicious!
"Great HX machine"

Review: I have bee using the Nuova Era Cuadra for almost a year and the machine is working perfectly. It has all the pros and cons of a HX machine. The steam power is great and if you pair the machine with a good grinder you can dial your espresso shot by the seconds of if you want to get geeky you can weigh your shots. This machine is great for the price range.

"Great value machine and buying experience with 1st Line, highly recommended!"

Review: I love this machine. I consistently produce great tasting drinks (daily), and the learning curve wasn't bad at all. My previous machine was ~4 years with a Silvia, so I had some decent home experience leading into this purchase. After a handful of test shots and calibrations with my grinder, I was pulling the best quality shots I've ever had at my home.

"Best damn machine ever"

Review: Magnifico simply magnifico. Great machine easy to use and great cuppa every time. I love good coffee and when I lived in Australia I had a range of machines including two Bezzera machines which also made great coffee. The hard part about moving here was finding a decent coffee or someone who could make a decent coffee. But with the Cuadra I don't need to look because it draws a great extraction, full of flavour and captures those coffee oils. just simply great coffee everytime. The only downside... More details

Review: I've had my Cuadra since April '13 and discovered a problem with a relay switch with the help and guidance of the website diagnostic page and Jim Piccinich via email. Jim was patient and diligent and I was so grateful not to have to box and mail the machine back. The part was still under warranty, btw. The product is great and the support is stellar—so if you're wondering where to get a great deal thats backed up with a great staff and not worry about anything else then 1st-Line should be your p... Review: This is really my first prosumer type machine. I started. like many, with a Krups or some such machine that would pull an average espresso at best, under all the perfect conditions. When that died, I got a great deal on a Capressa S8 so I went the fully-auto route. I wasn't dissapointed with the S8, especially considering the ease of use, but I was never thrilled with the results and I missed the therapeutic effects of the whole grinding, tamping, process. So I sold my S8 and bought the Cuadra. ... More details

Review: Excellent machine - inexpensive and well made at the same time. If you follow proper temperature management routine (temp. surfing) and your grinder is dialed in, it will make excellent espresso time after time. Steaming is powerful but I'm still not able to consistently get decent microfoam. Hence only 4 our 5 stars. I'm not sure if it's possible but I may try replacing the tip with a three-hole. Another minor annoyance is a fairly small tank which needs to be refilled too often. These are rela... More details

"La Nuova Era Cuadra - a great buy!"
LPP on 7/9/2013 1:59:07 PM
Review: I chose this machine after an extensive review, and I'm delighted with the choice. Combined with a Baratza Preciso grinder, there is enough flexibility (non-automation) to hone the espresso drinks, but not so much as to be daunting for a novice. It has an essential feature missing from some machines at this price-range an automatic shut-off when water runs low. The head/handle/filter system is commercial-grade, really well-built. It is missing a detailed instruction book, but there are web resou... More details
