Product Details
Overview:
Since 2005, 1st-line has been working with Isomac to improve each machine - one at a time - before they are brought into the USA. Prior to this, there were some quality issues on heat exchangers inside boilers and microswitches failing. Please review the upgrades at the bottom of this page and see why so many customers are now again choosing the Isomac TEA as the premiere choice for high end home model espresso machines!

In 2010, 1st-line Equipment asked Isomac Srl to produce the TEA with the Cool Touch wand system. Both wands are cool to the touch after steaming / frothing with the steam wand or releasing hot water from the hot water wand. Although this is an important feature for some customers, it should not be the end all reason to select an espresso machine. The main reasons are that you have a very hot grouphead with a lot more surface area and that the entire package (meaning's machine's overall quality build with other internal and external components must be taken into consideration in the decision making process.

Isomac does not only have one flagship-but several. The Isomac TEA III is definitely one of them. You can use the TEA III to steam milk and make espresso at the same time. With the help of the boiler manometer (gauge) you can view the pressure of the boiler close up at the same time as you keep an eye on the brew pressure manometer (gauge).

Everyone asks why call an espresso machine TEA? Well, in fact, the correct pronunciation is not tea (tee), but TEA (teh-ah) after one of the Greek goddesses (well maybe not Greek, but it sounded good). The TEA III is a superbly built machine that can make great espresso. Look at all the details below!
Features:
  • Latest model: Now comes with the newest style 'COOL TOUCH' steam/water knobs as shown below!
  • All stainless steel body throughout makes this a prize for many homes that will have guests gleen over! Polished front, side and rear!
  • Full sized commercial handles are used on the thermically-balanced (a.k.a. Faema E61) grouphead for maximized temperature stability.
  • Large drip tray with handle for easy disposal and cleaning.
  • Hidden small feet to maintain stability throughout.
  • Two gauges on front panel indicates boiler pressure and pump pressure (when pump is engaged).
  • Ergonomically designed steam knob and water knob for easy access.
  • Easy to use lever control for coffee like the old fashion way.
  • Lever in up (forward) position engages pump to push water through grouphead.
  • Passive cup warmer tray on top (cups can take up to 2 or more hours to preheat).
  • Removable cover for refilling water reservoir (3 liters).
  • Water reservoir is easily removable for cleaning.
  • Spring activated low water shut-off switch protects the machine when the water reservoir is near empty - the spring is superior to a magnetic float because limescale buildup can cause magnetic floats to stick in the 'up' position or they need replacement due to failure to float.
  • Cool Touch multi-directional steam wand has a 2 hole steam tip that makes frothed milk in a snap!
  • Three way manual solenoid valve allows the quick removal of the portafilter handle once the espresso extraction is terminated (lever in down position completely).
  • Internal brain unit to monitor and maintain proper water level in boiler is now covered.
  • Heavy-duty, stainless steel boiler is 1.4 liters large for that extra steaming power needed.
  • High wattage 1,400 watt heating element for continuous steaming power.
  • Grouphead is designed for ground coffee. Optional pod adapter can be purchased.
  • Heat exchanger allows continuous espresso extractions.
  • Pressure regulator maintains range of pressure in boiler (alternative pressurstat).
  • Powerful 41 watt vibration pump. The included ULKA 41 watt pump only needs 1 minute rest time for every minute of pumping time whereas competing machines with a ULKA 52 watt pump needs 1.5 minutes rest time for every minute of pumping time.
  • Accessories: One cup filter basket, two cup filter basket, one portafilter handle with single spout, one portafilter handle with double spout, one measuring scoop, and one plastic tamper.
Specifications:
  • Body finish: Stainless steel.
  • Power: 110 volts only, 60 Hz, 15 Amp.
  • Made in Italy.
  • Measurements:
    Height 15 3/4"
    Width back 10 1/8 " --- front drip tray 10 3/4" Wands extended 17 3/4"
    Depth w/o portafilter handle 17 1/8" --- w/ portafilter handle - 20 1/2"
    Drip Tray width 10 1/2" --- depth 6 3/4"
Notes:
  1. Click here for printable manual.
  2. Pump Pressure Gauge should only be looked at when extracting espresso. At no other time should this gauge be viewed as it is meaningless at all other times. Second, If the gauge shows different results while extracting, this indicates that your coffee grind tamping, or amount of ground coffee in the basket is not proper.
  3. Green Light - While warming up, this green light remains off until the machine reaches proper steam pressure (not pump pressure). It will go and off alternately with the red light while it intermittently re-heats to maintain steam pressure. In other words, it will turn on and off throughout the day and it will definitely go off while while extracting as cold water enters the heat exchanger to extract espresso.
  4. Boiler Pressure Gauge - Once the machines heats up, this gauge will vary from 0.8 to 1.3 depending upon setting, and it will change throughout the day in this range. As long as the machine is fully heated, the machine extract espresso or steam milk while in this range.
  5. Backflushing: This machine should be backflushed minimum once every 50 espresso extractions using Ascaso Detergent (our instructions included with purchase - link on invoice). This is only for cleaning the oils from the grouphead.
  6. Descaling: This really is for internally cleaning of the machine. Recommended once every 3 months using Ascaso Descaler. However, it can be more or less time depending upon the amount of magnesium and calcium is in your water, how often you use the machine, and how much time you leave the machine powered on each day. Join our email list to get monthly reminders on how to descale the different machines we sell.
  7. Cool Touch Wands: Please note this system is not available for previous version machines.
