I have recently run into an issue where when I turn on the switch (position I or II) the PID displays the version number, the pump runs for just a split second, and then the PID displays turns off and restarts itself. Meanwhile the brew boiler pressure gauge steadily increases every time the pumps cycles. The top of the plastic covering of the control box seems to have warped a bit due to excess heat at some point but the circuit board itself still looks intact with no signs of burns. Is this a sign of a deteriorating control box?

    2. It looks like I need some help here. after spending some time I found that both the PID and the 130C shutoff where defective. For now I bypassed the 130C shutoff on the top of the espresso boiler. The espresso side of my machine is now working like new. The steam boiler on the other hand will not produce any heat. The pilot light turns on when I put the switch in the "II" settings, but the boiler does not heat at all. I removed the relay cover and the red light never turns on. I disconnected the water sensor and turned the machine to the "I" position and the pump did start filling water until I re-connected it. I measured 1.7 V on the relay control connectors, when the machine is in "I" and in the "II" position and after it was already hot for 30 minutes. Is there something else that I am missing? What other measurements can I make to diagnose the problem?

Answered by the admin It can be the brain unit or one of the relays on the floor. Or, the heating element. If it does not work, it will need to be evaluated by a professional.
