Steady Lock Grinder

The Ceado E5P features Ceado’s unique Steady Lock grinding system. This ensu-res the distance between the burrs, as set by your chosen grind fineness. This also makes sure the grinds will be consistent no matter what.

Push & Grind Operation

On-demand grinding activated by pushing your portafilter up against the switch on the filter holder fork. The spout from the portafilter will activate the grinding. Since it relies on the spout hitting the button, bottomless portafilters will not work with this grinder.

Changing grind settings: As with all coffee grinders, it is very important to only change grind settings on Ceado espresso coffee grinders when the unit is powered 'on' and the burrs are in motion. If you do not do this, the burrs will 'gunk' up and require cleaning by you every time this occurs. Changing the grind settings when the burrs are not in motion will render the grinder to only produce very coarse grinds or no grinds at all. If this result occurs, this will be considered operator error for lack of following directions, and not be classified as a defective grinder. Ceado grinders are considered commercial equipment for grinding coffee only and can not be returned once used.
Static issues: There are static issues with all grinders, even the highest quality models. We firmly believe that the static comes from the coffee beans. If you are having static problems with your coffee grinder, trying using a different blend of beans.
Finding grinds in a new grinder: Manufacturers like to test the grinders with coffee beans before it leaves their facility. They are not always able to get every trace of coffee out of the grinders after testing. As a result, you may find coffee beans or grinds inside your grinder, or there may be grinds in the packaging when you unwrap it.
Electrical cord: Please note that the electrical cord is placed between the packaging (foam or cardboard) and the underside body of the grinder. During shipping, it is normal for a bend or insignificant blemish/slice to damage the cord.
Bottomless portafilters: This grinder is intended for use with standard portafilters with a spout. The grinder is activated by a switch located on the fork and the spout will press against the switch. Using a bottomless portafilter will require you to activate the switch with another hand.
Replacing the burrs: When replacing Ceado grinding burrs, NEVER use a flathead screwdriver and hammer to wedge under the burrs for removal. This could badly damage your machine.
Instruction manual: The instruction manual mentions a "paintbrush" is included, but no brushes are included.

The grinder starts and stops by pushing in the button located on the portafilter fork. A standard portafilter with a spout would normally push this button in. If using a bottomless portafilter, it would require 2 hands.
