If you desire an alternate steam tip, please order this steam tip . Q & A: Q :I noticed that when I am pulling shots the temperature remains constant. However, when I attempt to steam at the same time the PID temperature drops from 95 down into the 80s, one time as far as 82. Have I just reached the limits of my machine? Unsure if I am doing something wrong or my machine might be faulty. A : This is normal. You are taking temperature down in two places (espresso and steam), and 110v can not send enough power to keep up. You can do both at the same time, but there is always a 'slight' temperature loss. I have stated this either on coffeegeek.com or home-barista.com a few years ago about Pasquini machines and HX machines in general. Anything less than a 3-4 liter boiler, and temperature will be lost more rapidly when the steam boiler is on. Now, the better news. The sensor is in the steam boiler and temps the steam inside. The HX passes thru the water and steam. There is also a heater on the grouphead to keep it piping hot. So, we do not think the difference is as great as one sees.
