Three Way Solenoid Valve for Back Pressure Relief
Found on very few home models!!! The biggest benefit is that there is less of a chance of the grind exploding "All Over The Place" when removing the filter handle. This happens on many other home models when you remove the filter handle immediately and too fast after making espresso.

Rancilio Silvia Three Way Solenoid Valve on Machine - Positioned Behind Bottom Front Panel
TThe picture on the left shows the three-way (3-way) solenoid valve located behind the front panel behind the Rancilio Silvia grouphead. After shutting off the coffee switch, it is NORMAL for some water to be placed in the drip tray (left rear) as this si the water pressure being released fromt he grouphead. It is not normal for this valve to dispense water while the machine is warming up or waiting in the ready state. If this valve or the grouphead leaks upon warm up, please power down the machine right away. if you purchased the machine from 1st-line, please email us with your invocie number, the nature of this problem, and we will email instructions on how to correct it.
