Isomac Millenium III Espresso Machine with 'Cool Touch' Steam and Hot Water Wands
Overview:
In late 2010, 1st-line Equipment worked Isomac to produce the Millenium with the Cool Touch wand system. The steam and hot water wands are cool to the touch after use. The Cool Touch system (including all similar feature to competitive models at other manufacturers, named as No Burn Steam Wands)) does not mean you can continuously hold the wand while operating - it simply means you can 'touch' the wand to move and immediately release it.
Although the Cool Touch wand system is an important feature for some customers, it should not be the decisive reason to select an espresso machine. The logic is that you have a very hot grouphead with a lot more surface area and that the entire package (meaning's machine's overall quality build with other internal and external components must be taken into consideration in the decision making process.
Since 2005, 1st-line has been working with Isomac
to improve each machine - one at a time - before they are brought
into the USA. Prior to this, there were some quality issues on heat exchangers inside boilers and miscroswitches failing. Please review the upgrades at the bottom of the TEA III
page and see why so many customers are now again choosing the Isomac Millenium III
as the premiere choice for high end home model espresso machines!
Isomac does not only have one flagship-but several. The Isomac
Millenium III is definitely one of the bunch. You can use the Millenium III to steam
milk and make espresso at the same time.
Everyone asks us why does the Millenium cost more than the Isomac TEA III which also has an extra gauge for the brew pressure. The reason is that the Millenium has the highest grade of stainless steel used in a kitchen appliance and there is a higher machine shop cost to produce the rounded-edge body as seen below in the top view photograph. Although the brew pressure gauge is a great feature for beginners, it is really not needed for those who know their espresso skills by watching the pour and making the necessary adjustments without the gauge. In other words, the brew pressure gauge is not really used by people who know how to make espresso.

- Green Light - While warming up, this green light remains off until the machine reaches proper steam pressure (not pump pressure). It
will go and off alternately with the red light while it intermittently
re-heats to maintain steam pressure. In other words, it will turn
on and off throughout the day and it will definitely go off while
while extracting as cold water enters the heat exchanger to extract
espresso.
- Boiler Pressure Gauge - Once the machines heats up,
this gauge will vary from 0.8 to 1.3 depending upon setting, and
it will change throughout the day in this range. As long as the
machine is fully heated, the machine extract espresso or steam milk
while in this range.
- Backflushing: This machine should be backflushed
minimum once every 50 espresso extractions using Ascaso Detergent (our instructions included with purchase - link on invoice). This is only for cleaning
the oils from the grouphead.
- Descaling: This really is for internally cleaning
of the machine. Recommended once every 3 months using Ascaso Descaler.
However, it can be more or less time depending upon the amount of
magnesium and calcium is in your water, how often you use the machine,
and how much time you leave the machine powered on each day. Join
our email list to get monthly reminders on how to descale the different
machines we sell.
- Cool Touch Wands - please note this system is not available for previous version machines.
