GAGGIA S.P.A. was founded by Achille Gaggia in 1947. The modern
steamless professional espresso machine with cream was born when
Achille Gaggia filed patent #365726 on September 5th, 1938.
Achille's ingenious idea was to force water under pressure to
flow through the coffee grounds to produce the cream that has
made espresso coffee world famous. Espresso machines have evolved
over the decades: from the traditional lever controlling a pressure-generating
piston to a fully automated mechanism that, with a push of a button,
grinds, measures and delivers delicious espresso coffee.
In 1977, GAGGIA began producing espresso machines for the home.
In this family market, which emerged and expanded over the years,
GAGGIA is still the absolute leader in Italy. All products are
made in the Robecco sul Naviglio factory (Milan, Italy) where
tradition is combined with quality and modern technology.
In recent years, GAGGIA has undergone a process of renewal and
diversification. Its range of products projects this move toward
a dynamic and forward-looking future while maintaining GAGGIA's
trademark quality.
GAGGIA's newest line of home espresso machines delivers state
of the art performance and aesthetics while remaining true to
its long and proud heritage.
