Ascaso I-Mini Espresso Grinder
Overview:
NEW FEATURE: 2 rods have been added on the front to guide the portafilter.
The brand new iMini is a superb burr coffee grinder from
Ascaso, a company that specializes in commercial and domestic
coffee equipment. Its compact size makes it ideal for home
use, and it sports a very solid construction.
Turning the knob on the side of the grinder allows the
grind setting to be adjusted to any point on a continuous
scale from the finest to the coarsest setting. This is known
as stepless adjustment. This feature allows very small adjustments
to be made very easily - making it one of the few grinders
that can achieve the perfect grind setting for making espresso.
The body of the black i-Mini is made from aluminum which
is then powder coated to give a durable black finish. The
body of the aluminum i-Mini is made from aluminum polished
to a shiny finish. When these grinders get wet near your
espresso machine, there is no rust!
The hopper is made from clear plastic and holds approximately
250g of coffee beans. The hopper just lifts off for washing,
and the top of the grinder is easily removed to allow access
to the burrs for cleaning. Please make sure to remove the
beans from the hopper prior to removing the hopper.
The ground coffee is dispensed directly into your portafilter
handle from the chute. Simply hold the portafilter handle
against the button on the front of the grinder to activate
the grinding mechanism. If you do not use an espresso machine,
you can dispense the coffee into a small cup or container.

Notes:
- Please note that grinders with the above stepless adjustment
are not good candidates for grinding for multiple types
of coffee brewing methods. The reason is that it is difficult
to change settings from very course for french press to
very fine for espresso as turning the adjustment knob countless
times makes this impractical. however, to fine tune a grind
for espresso, the stepless feature works great!

for manual. The instructional manuals for Ascaso are
printed for worldwide distribution and covers almost every
model produced worldwide. With this in mind, there may be
features, accessories, or colors available in Ascaso equipment
in other countries, but not available in our models produced
for the United States.
- Power of machine is turned off by a manual switch (not
timer).
- Important Note for ALL coffee/espresso
grinders. NEVER adjust your grind in the finer direction
unless the motor is spinning. If the motor is off and you
adjust finer, there is a very likely chance that you will
compact beans between the burr teeth and gunk up the burrs
or carry grinds into the grinding chamber threads- jamming
the burr carrier. This is not covered under warranty. Typically,
the remedy of a jammed grinder takes two technicians about
one hour each, resulting in a 2-hour labor charge.
