1. WARNING: This is to prevent damage. Upon initial start up, it is important to make sure the pump is actually removing water from the reservoir. When the machine is powered on for the first time, you will hear the pump. After 5-10 seconds, you can squeeze the hoses in the reservoir and release. if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and email the sales address on our web site.
2. WARNING: Before operating the machine, please inspect the water softener in the reseroir to make sure it is not leaking any resins into the intake hose. It can be removed from the hose for inspection. if the water softener was damaged in transit, please do not use and call us for replacement.
3. CARE: We recommend backflushing the grouphead once every fifty espresso extractions. The machine has a water softener included in the reservoir. We recommend using the OSCAR90 water softening packs in your water reservoir to remove magnesium and calcium from your water. We also recommend descaling the machine once a month with the Ascaso descaler.
4. Upon receiving the machine, you will find a note inside by La Nuova Era that they tested the machine with one espresso. You may find a very small trace of coffee grinds.
